INNEO NEONATAL OPEN INCUBATOR | Winner of Young Design 2017 Design Contest

Inneo is a solution to many problems related to the use of medical equipment and space in the hospital.

Open incubator is a medical equipment in the field of neonatology, used to save lives and treatment of newborns. The equipment includes supporting structure , crib , cupboards , oxygen generator and modules ( which can be freely plugs into a socket on the wings of the supporting structure) . Modular units used in the project are: flow pump , infusion pump , ventilator and humidifier on a ventilator . Use of the modular system causes easy transport and organizes the form of the equipment. On the back of the supporting structure is the service entrance and battery - enabling to move the whole complex at the time when it is unplugged. My goal was to design the medical equipment to serve both: the child - as a way saving his life , as well as the medical staff - facilitating access to patient and device support .The reason for choosing this topic is the fact that a very large percentage of children born with severe health dysfunctions , and improper care of the newborn leads to the death of the child. The project was carried out in 2017 as part of my master's thesis under the supervision of the professor Janusz Konaszewski.
